What is it about - It's about how a guitarist gets involved in an unnecessary gun battle with unrelated people.
Story and Structure - An absolute no-bullshit film. Straight forward and to the point. Screenwriters have done a good job here. They have not wasted a single scene for 'Character development'. They have not wasted screentime to 'reveal character emotions'. This is a pure plot-driven story. The story structure of this film needs appreciation. The character is completely changed at the end of the movie. It has a rounded structure where the last scene of the film connects back to the first scene.
Making - It has a little unsophisticated approach. The unprofessional zoom in-s that looks bad on-screen and also, sound design is not good at few places. The BGM is very engaging.
Robert Rodriguez did not put an effort to make this film look realistic. And that is one of the plus points of this movie. I loved one of the dream sequences where a boy throws a ball and the protagonist receives a head. That was scary as fuck.
Conclusion - I am very satisfied after watching this film and this story will remain with me for a long time. Because it is so simple and effective. I can call this a minimal-film. Not in the budget, but in the way of storytelling. We see a love story, we see a battle of rivals, we see one fool triumphant story. This is a mixture of all these and people will love this film for the same reason. No single scene is boring. All the focus is on telling a story forward. I want to make one such film.
